Is Britain a flow of Racism?

A mother with a little boy was shouting against foreigners by herself, with swearwords. As you can see the video, the train was chaos because of this woman, other passengers around her were trying to get her down though she never stopped.
From this video, I think British people are struggling with foreigners even in London since a massive unemployment rate shows most people lose their job that are taken by cheap labour from other countries. I would not say racism and discrimination are a huge problem in London, however, looking at other cities; Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and so on, these cities are indeed struggling with this problem. I did not know British people are likely to look down people from overseas until my friends talked about this to me. They all have experienced a little or big discrimination in UK unfortunately because of their different nationality.
Although discrimination can be seen anywhere in the world, why not understand or even respect others even if people very much pay attention to it as the numbers of views on this video?
British people are known as ladies and gentleman, but there is no glimmer of conscience in her mind.
This is because of nationalism come from economic matters hit in the UK nowadays, which abuses people's racist mind?

北極海航路戦略

前記事でアイスランドの話を出したが、今アイスランドは北極海航路として注目を浴びている。
アイスランドは2008年に金融崩壊をしたのが懐かしい。ギリシャやアイルランドとは異なり、破綻後は早期の回復を目指し、順調に修正してきたが、それでも外貨を欲している状況である。今回中国の大富豪が投資建前コロニー案を打診してきたが、それを難なく断るアイスランドの強情さは日本も見習うとこが多いであろう。そこで、今回のアイスランドの中国敵対心を利用し、これから日本がアイスランドと友好的かつ政治的に結びついていけるのではないだろうか。地図を見ると北極海航路からやや外れてはいるものの、航路上のハブとして注目を集める予感がする。地政学上、政治学上など様々な問題があり、本当に利益になるのかはまだまだ勉強不足なので確証を得られない。

さて、温暖化によりロシアの上を行く北極海航路ができる可能性が高い。これは経済的、軍事的に見ても日本としては喉から手が出るほど美味しい話である。というのもアジアの中で北海道より北に位置する他のアジアの国々は無いため、日本が最大の恩恵を受けるであろう。
ただしそこにはロシアという広大かつ強大な国が位置するため、一筋縄でいかないであろう。それを逆手に取ってロシアと友好関係を持つのもひとつの戦略であろう。しかし、また避けて通れないのが北方領土問題である。この北極海航路は日本とロシアの北方問題を再考する最もな機会であるともいえるであろう。
これからもっと勉強し、戦略案を考えてみたいところである。

Iceland rejects Chinese imperialism

The Reuters reported 'the Iceland government on 25th November rejected a bid by a Chinese investor to buy 300 sq km (189 sq miles) on the island nation because it did not meet legal requirements on foreign ownership'.
A multimillionaire Chinese investor, Hung Nubo, basis of Beijing office tried to get land ownership in the same way they had done in African nations for past years. This rejection has hugely shocked not only Huang but the Chinese government, reported by the Chinese media which also has been accusing this treating.
In this case, the Iceland did the right thing by declining the Chinese offer even though they accuse this treat as unfairness and discrimination. On this point, if Iceland confirmed the offer, then it would automatically accept Chinese imperialism to expand Europe like the awful cases in Africa. Such colonialism must be stopped in the name of protecting in flux of Chinese immigrants to Europe throughout Iceland. Behind this scene, UK and other nations struggling with Chinese immigrants must be enjoying and agree with what Iceland had decided.
We must stop their old imperialism by driving force of economic nationalism.

Portuguese Strike

My Portuguese friend said to me over a year ago, that Portugal will, sonner or later, be in a serious situation   due to the chain of financial crisis. What he said is getting truth even though Portugal is still making effort to against financial collapse, unlikely the Greek mess. The new prime minister since last June, Pedro Passos Coelho seriously has to face this problem wether the country should bail out again or be financially collapsed, being fear with occupying the streets or square like some other countries, especially like the Wall Street one. In Porto, the north city of Portugal, the price of commodities are seemingly still cheap compared to other Mediterranean countries though the country is indicated at one of the top OECD countries.
I strongly deny the case of OWS(Occupy Wall Street) can be applied to this nation as the nature of Portuguese culture is inherently different from others. However they must solve public sector since tightened austerity seems to squeeze people's throat.

Mossad vs Assad? 'CIA death squads behind Syria bloodbath'

According to RT news on 21st November, 'Moscow has accused the west of stirring up tensions in the Arab world by calling for the overthrow of the Syrian regime. Russia says calls from certain states for the Syrian opposition to avoid dialogue with the government, are only provoking further violence. Author and journalist Webster Tarpley, who's in Damascus, says, it's very simple, western powers are behind the violence in Syria'.

There is no revolution over there but snipers do killing citizens, which makes Syria chaos,  behind the scene there must be a secret accord between CIA and Mossad, which Russia accuses these Western powerful strategy into Middle East since this incident is slightly slightly related to Western countries and the reason to intervene. Democratisation has to be as a Westernisation?

11月20日に行われたスペインの総選挙で、ラホイ氏率いる国民党が圧勝しました。これまでスペイン政治はフェリペ率いる社会労働党が最大野党でしたが、今回の選挙で野党の議席数は大幅に減少。因に国民党は中道右派なので、ヨーロッパ各国の右傾化の影響を受けてると言っても過言ではないでしょう。中道右派と聞いて欧州委員会委員長のジョセ•マヌエル•バローゾの就任を思い出しました。彼の就任以来、ヨーロッパ各国で右寄りの政党が筆頭してきました。今回のスペインは他の国より遅れを取る形で右傾化してますが、カタルーニャやバスクをはじめ、ガリシア地方で分裂派が力を付けているのも起因の一つだと考えます。

今回の社会労働党の政権転覆は、あの忌まわしいフランコ独裁政権の1975年以来の大きな敗北としてニュースとして取り上げられています。スペインはユーロ危機を表す'PIIGS(Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain)'の内の一国であり、今回の選挙結果もそれが一つの要因かと思われます。
これまで野党第一党であった社会労働党はリーマンショック以来、失業率の上昇を止められず(未だに20％超)、財政危機に対して具体的な政策が目立たなかったのが国民の信頼を失ったとあります。

さてサパテロ首相は1ヶ月後に退陣し、ラホイ氏にその座を譲ることが決まりました。2004年の選挙以来、ラホイ氏は念願の首相となるわけです。
今回のスペインの政権交代は日本の民主党政権交代を彷彿させますが、民主党のように迷走するのか、今後どういう運命を辿るのか、スペイン政治から目が離せないです。

ケインズ vs ハイエク

ケインズとハイエクの論点を中心にラップ調で語っていく動画です。
訳もしっかりしているので、たとえラップを聞き取れなくても内容が分かると楽しいです。
個人的にはケインズが 'wages'を 'bitches'に似たような発音で言うところがお気に入りです。

DHL=Problem

A couple of weeks ago, my parents sent me a package via DHL, a German express company, and I received it with a really really problem, which annoyed me and still remained a bad attitude for this company. When I got a box, I had to pay the extra fees that were VAT, duty admission and extra delivery fee and never expected that fees that I had to pay since my parents have already paid the fee when they brought it. What is worse, fees costed almost same price as they paid in Japan, which is quite ridiculous and astonishing experience I ever had.
This is not only the case when packages are sent from Japan or either come to Japan, but it happens anywhere in the world as I looked up the website in which people from different countries have the same problem with DHL. I strongly insist that DHL should tell customers that they have to pay for the extra fees when package arrived at the final destination.

Some other companies such as FedEx and UPS also might charge the extra fees like what DHL does.

ベルギーとフランス旅

日本を飛び立ってからかれこれ２ヶ月。

９月の中旬にはヒースロー空港に到着し、大きな荷物を預けて２日後にはベルギー、フランスへ友人たちに会う旅へ。２ヶ月も前の話ですが、記憶の整理と懐かしさを噛みしめるために書きたいと思います。

ベルギー

ベルギーでは、アントワープに住むベルギー人の友人の家にホームステイさせてもらい、非常に楽しく快適な生活でした。
以前にも何度かお邪魔したことがあるので、到着すると歓迎してくれました。

今回はロンドンシティ空港(市内といってもDLRを使ってセントラルから30分程なので中心地ではないです)からアントワープ空港へ。
航空会社はCityJetというKLM系列の会社。
片道￡90と高めでしたが、飛行時間50分のうちにサンドイッチと飲み物がちゃんと出たので良かったです。

さて今回来た目的は、アントワープ大学で勉強することと、紛失したベルギーのキャッシュカード再発行のためです。
*キャッシュカード紛失は1年以上前のフィンランド留学時
到着後早速オランダ系銀行のING Bankに向い、必要な書類全てを持参したら、即日その場で再発行してくれました。
残高をチェックしましたが、不正に使われた形跡は無さそうなので良かったです。

残りの数日は友人と深夜まで飲み明かし、ベルギービールとフライドポテトを堪能したり、サッカーのリーグ試合を見に行ったりもしました。
友人は現在ブリュッセルの大手コンサル会社で働いており、名刺をもらった時は非常に驚きました。

平日はベルギー留学中の後輩のフラットへお邪魔し、大学で勉強したりと有意義な生活でした。


フランス

フランスはパリに行き、フィンランドで知り合ったフランス人の家へと遊びに行きました。
そこで知り合った友人たちは皆肩書きがすごく、フランス情勢の話をして盛り上がりました。
平日にお邪魔したので、日中は一人で市内を観光し、パリの街を楽しみました。
パリ滞在中に、昔シンクタンクでお世話になった先輩が丁度パリに来てるとのことで、合流し1日パリ市内を観光して、食事を奢って頂きました。
おそらくこの日がフランスの美味しい食事を食べた最初で最後の日です。

パリの印象としては、あまり治安が良くなさそうなのと、街があまり清潔じゃないというところです。
地下鉄は回数券を使えば1回120円で市内どこまでも行けるので便利ですが、地下鉄が一番汚い印象でした。
多くの日本人が魅了される街として有名ですが、個人的にはあまり良い印象が無かったため残念でした。
帰りのロンドンまでのTGVがとても快適で強く印象に残ってたくらいです。


今回ベルギーとフランスを廻り、友人たちに会ったことで大学院での勉強意欲が湧いたのが大きな収穫でした。
今こうして振り返ってみると、最近のモチベーション維持にとって大事なことだったと強く感じました。

できればベルギーは留学中にもう一度行ければいいなと思います。今度はルーベン大学で文献資料を集めたいです。

2011年秋から英国ヨーク大学院、国際政治経済学修士を取得のため留学。

都内の大学を卒業後、外資系企業で半年間インターン、そして現在に至る。
これまでイギリス高校留学を始め、大学在学中はベルギー、イタリア、フィンランドにて留学生活を過ごす。
経済学部にて、公共政策、経済地理、移民経済を専門に勉強する。
現在は社会学寄りの政治経済学、主に政治経済思想から地政学を勉強中。
